Prosecutor general replaces prosecutors in Bubenchyk’s case

Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yurii Lutsenko made a decision to replace the team of prosecutors probing crimes committed on Kyiv’s Maidan Nezalezhnosti in 2014 which they suspect active participant in the Revolution of Dignity Ivan Bubenchyk has something to do with.

"I believe that the members of Special Investigations Department headed by Serhii Horbatiuk have incorrectly determined the actions committed by participant in the Revolution of Dignity Bubenchyk," Lutsenko wrote on social media, Censor.NET reports.

"Following consultations, I decided to replace the team of prosecutors investigating this crime committed on the Maidan. The new team will be headed by my deputy Anzhela Stryzhevska. I expect she will voice her unbiased and final decision on how to determine Ivan Bubenchyk's actions of Feb. 18-20, 2014 during clashes on the Maidan Nezalezhnosti, determine his status in proceedings and propose a pretrial restriction that can be imposed on him, "Lutsenko said.

On April 3, the law enforcers detained Maidan activist, People's Hero of Ukraine, ex-soldier of Dnipro-1 battalion Ivan Bubenchyk on charges of the murder of Berkut riot police officers on Kyiv’s Maidan Nezalezhnosti in February 2014.
