"A very good and "balanced" media campaign was held two days ago. I followed all these events reading news on the Internet. The reports first claimed that I filed resignation and then I allegedly took a leave... I was roped in without being consulted," he said in Brussels March 22, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.
The top anti-corruption crusader stressed that "an unwanted prosecutor may be unwelcome by everyone."
"If it is true, I guess I do everything right. I can speak for every my word. I know what I'm saying, where and whom to. Our job is really stressful so it is sometimes hard not to use strong words. If someone wants to use this to make me commit certain actions - file resignations or anything else - I won't give them the satisfaction. We came here not to submit to someone else’s desires. I am oriented on the work, the results achieved by the NABU (National Anti-corruption Bureau of Ukraine) and SAP," Kholodnytskyi said.
He stressed that SAP and NABU continue working together.
Several news agencies earlier reported that Kholodnytskyi considered his resignation over alleged health issues. According to another opinion, possible resignation of SAP’s chief can be connected to the pressure exerted on him.
