 Shell Suspended Cooperation with Gazprom Neft Through Western Sanctions

UK-Netherlands Shell has suspended cooperation with the Russian energy producing company Gazprom Neft within the Khanty-Mansiysk Oil Union joint venture.

Gazprom Neft CEO Alexander Diukov told this to the reporters, Censor.NET informs citing RIA Novosti.

Gazprom Neft among others fell under the Western sectoral sanctions. In particular, the EU banned the supply of equipment and services to the shale oil fields in Russia.

"They suspended their work as part of this alliance, but we continue to work within the Khanty-Mansiysk Oil Union independently experiencing no difficulties," Diukov said. According to him, there were no critical situations in the work of the joint venture.

Diukov said commenting on the prospects of further cooperation with Shell's oil shale projects within Salym Petroleum Development: "Concerning cooperation with SPD, they are now studying the possibility to continue the work and agree upon the opportunity of co-working with the relevant decision making regulatory authorities."
