 Minister of Defense Confirms Ukrainian Military Negotiations with Russia and Terrorists

Heletei did not reveal the subject of negotiations, citing a confidentiality agreement.

According to Censor.NET with reference to UNIAN, Defense Minister Valery Heletei confirmed that negotiations between the Ukrainian military, on the one hand, and the militants and the Russian military - on the other are under way in the city of Horlivka, the Donetsk region.

At the same time the Minister did not name the subject of negotiations. "Just so you understand - any agreements, negotiations, such as negotiations with the U.S. Minister of Defense, Minister of Defense of Poland, where we have agreed on non- disclosure, it's the same with negotiations at the level of representatives of Russia, DPR, LPR. And we agreed on non-disclosure," Heletei said.

It was reported that several days ago, the Russian media reported talks being held between the servicemen from Ukraine and Russia, the OSCE, as well as representatives of DPR and LPR terrorist organizations in Horlivka, which is under the control of the militants.

In particular, according to TV channel Russia 24, the meeting was on the full implementation of the Minsk memorandum. The Russian side was represented by Deputy Commander of the Russian Armed Forces, Lieutenant-General Alexander Lentsov. It was not reported who represented Ukraine. The TV channel reported that the meeting allegedly discussed the withdrawal of the Ukrainian units from the territory of the Donetsk airport. The story also noted that the parties did not provide any guarantees to one another on the basis of negotiations.
