Four Ukrainian nationals were killed in a road traffic accident in Opole, Poland, as their car entered a railway crossing and was rammed by a rail bus.

As reported by Censor.NET citing local newspaper naszemiasto.pl, the incident occurred on Feb. 27 around 7 p.m. local time. Volkswagen Passat with four Ukrainians on board entered the crossing after which it was rammed by a rail bus. Four Ukrainians aged between 20 and 60 died on the spot. The passengers and the rail bus driver were unhurt.

Vasyl Kyrylych, the deputy director of the consular service department of Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed to Ukrainska Pravda based on the report of the local police that those killed in the road accident on Feb. 27 were Ukrainian citizens.

Ukraine’s consul in Krakow along with consul in Opole take measures to identify the deceased and assist in delivery of their bodies to Ukraine.
