"I'm struck by the fact Minister of Defence Heletei and Head of the General Staff Muzhenko left the meeting of the Ilovaisk tragedy investigation commission. It's a disrespect towards the Parliament. It's a disrespect towards society. We must know the truth about Ilovaisk. We need to know who bears responsibility for making decisions. Because only the investigation of the Ilovaisk tragedy allows to make conclusions and reforms of the military forces management and organization system. The tragedy in the D sector did not get public response, and it turned out that the Ministry of Defence and the General Staff did not come up with any conclusions. Later they made the same mistakes in the Southern front and near Luhansk.
Alas, the awkward war management system does not undergo any reforms. It's obsolete and does not correspond to reality. Poroshenko, deeply concerned with the elections and external policy, let all other things slide with military authority dodging the responsibility. The Commander-In-Chief did not make any conclusions after Ilovaisk and no investigation was conducted. And now he lets his military chiefs fail the work of the Parliament commission.
And there is no need to hide the dead lists. In this war - a war for independence - each victim proves the fact that Ukrainians are putting everything at stake for the sake of freedom and independence.
The secret character of the Ilovaisk tragedy investigation is obviously needed for one reason - the Commander-In-Chief does not want to recognize before elections that this defeat is predominantly a result of not only the massive Russian aggression and betrayal, but also of gross mistakes of the military command and Poroshenko himself.
You don't have a right to silence this military defeat and leave it without consequences. Because this war is not your personal cause. These are not your soldiers who died there, President Poroshenko, they are your compatriots. They are our friends who left homes to protect us. We gave them motivation, support and equipment. We want to know the truth and we will get it. If the Commander-In-Chief turns the blind eye to hiding the truth about Ilovaisk, then he does not understand how important the victims of Ilovaisk, Luhansk, the D sector, Donetsk, and other hot spots are to the people of Ukraine.
A few words about the Minister of Defence and his absolutely disgraceful utterance at the commission meeting: "This is a political show". Gen. Heletei, you would have a moral right to say this if your son would have been in Ilovaisk. And until you hide him safe and sound away from the war, how can you dare to talk about the show? I will post how the Ilovaisk tragedy investigation continues," the journalist promised.
