According to the head of the government, about 7 billion hryvnia is required to implement the initiative.
"We expect that the increase will affect 498,000 military pensioners. We are going to disburse about 7 billion hryvnia for this purpose this year. We know how to raise these funds given the Pension Fund budget shortfall.
"The decision has been made. It will be brought to the notice of the local authorities by the end of the week and they will start working personally with each pensioner. Retired military will receive recalculated pension payments in March-April," the senior official said.
