As reported by Censor.NET citing Interfax –Ukraine, Russia’s secret service claimed that the detainee was an alleged Ukrainian agent who collected intelligence on activities of the Russian Armed Forces and FSB.
"The Russian Federal Security Service detained a citizen of Ukraine Kostiantyn Davydenko in Simferopol on Feb. 11. He persistently collected sensitive information on the activities of the units of the Federal National Guard Troops Service and FSB personnel and passed it to the Ukrainian secret services," the FSB said.
The Russian security agency also noted that the intelligence could have damaged the national security if obtained by the foreign secret service.
The detainee was indicted on espionage charges under Article 286 of the Russian Criminal Code.
