"Experts believe that a hand grenade was used. A large bearing was attached to the grenade which makes us believe that the explosive device was designed to cause greater casualties," the police official told a press conference.
He confirmed that the woman injured in the blast worked as a cleaner in the pharmacy located in the same building with the store.
"After she finished cleaning, she went downstairs and spotted a small package on the stairs. She asked her grandson to make a few steps back, approached the package and picked it up (she said it was pretty heavy). She saw a metal object inside and took it out. It exploded when she accidentally dropped it," Bekh said.
According to him, the police investigate several leads.
"We already have several theories. One of them is a possible conflict between the pharmacy owner and his former employer. Other versions are not ruled out," the policeman said.
He stressed that no reason to consider it a terrorist attack had been found so far. However, he did not rule out that the nature of the offense might change in the course of the pre-trial investigation.
