"The campaign to choose a primary care physician will start in April 2018. The petitions regarding the picked doctors will be available for signing in a pilot mode. This is done for the doctors to have enough time to learn using the features of the healthcare information system as well as to test the central component of the e-health,” the statement reads.
It is also reported that a competition for the post of the chairman of the National Healthcare Service of Ukraine (NHS) will be announced in January while the agency itself will be created and become fully operational by July.
"Only healthcare facilities having the status of public non-profit organizations will be able to enter into contracts with the NHS and receive direct funding from the state budget for the services provided," the ministry said.
It is noted that public primary care facilities should also computerize themselves; choose a medical information system; connect to the electronic health system; obtain electronic digital signatures for the facility and doctors; bring the facility equipment in line with the technical table; ensure the provision of primary health care on weekends, holidays, and when the primary doctor is on leave, on sick leave or out for advanced training; enter into an agreement with the NHS.
