Russia Has Openly Threatened Europe to Cut Off Gas Supplies Due to Its Assistance to Ukraine

Russia will cease gas supplies to Europe in case of its further re-export to Ukraine by the member countries of the European Union.

Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said this in conversation with a Handelsblatt reporter on Friday, September 25, Censor.NET informs citing Deutsche Welle.

According to him, Russia "cannot guarantee" uninterrupted gas supply to Europe in the context of its re-export to Ukraine. "The concluded agreements do not stipulate for re-export. We hope that our European partners will adhere to the terms of the contracts. We can ensure an uninterrupted supply of gas to European consumers only on this basis," Novak said on the eve of the next round of gas negotiations between Russia and Ukraine through the mediation of the European Commission.
