"We were informed until September about the military (the Ukrainian servicemen) who were in hospitals of the Rostov region. This gave us an opportunity to return about 30 injured soldiers, but the consulate has not received any official information from the governmental agencies since September about the wounded Ukrainian servicemen in the hospitals of the Rostov region," he said.
According to the Consul General, "the Russian side has had a more constructive attitude to this issue previously but now the information is completely classified." At the same time, Moskalenko said that the consulate has repeatedly requested this information from the authrotities as it is known for sure that there are Ukrainian servicemen in the hospitals of the Rostov region.
He put forward an example of a Ukrainian soldier in a Rostov region hospital who maintained telephone contact with the representatives of the consulate. "But the Russian side denied this and sent him back to the separatists to Donetsk," Moskalenko said. The diplomat also said that the Consulate General of Ukraine considers one of its tasks today to "look for the wounded in hospitals of the Rostov region of the Russian Federation and also prisoners."
