"We were informed until September about themilitary (the Ukrainian servicemen) who were in hospitals of theRostov region. This gave us an opportunity to return about 30injured soldiers, but the consulate has not received any officialinformation from the governmental agencies since September aboutthe wounded Ukrainian servicemen in the hospitals of the Rostovregion," he said.
According to the Consul General, "the Russian side has hada more constructive attitude to this issue previously but now theinformation is completely classified." At the same time, Moskalenkosaid that the consulate has repeatedly requested thisinformation from the authrotities as it is known for sure thatthere are Ukrainian servicemen in the hospitals of the Rostovregion.
He putforward an example of a Ukrainian soldier in a Rostov regionhospital who maintained telephone contact with the representativesof the consulate. "But the Russian side denied this and sent himback to the separatists to Donetsk," Moskalenko said. The diplomatalso said that the Consulate General of Ukraine considers one ofits tasks today to "look for the wounded in hospitals of the Rostovregion of the Russian Federation and also prisoners."
