"I will not allow any threats of political interference in the activities of anticorruption institutions. On the contrary, I believe that it is necessary to accelerate the appointment of the audit; it is necessary to ensure effective protection from any political interference of politicians in the work of the NABU and politicization of the work of any law enforcement agencies willing to influence politics. I believe that these are the right approaches," Poroshenko said at a press conference following the talks with President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė, Censor.NET reports citing the press office of the Ukrainian president.
Poroshenko stresses that during the whole time of the work of anticorruption bodies in Ukraine, from the very beginning of their creation, neither he nor the authorities interfered in their work: "Over more than 2.5 years of the activity of anticorruption bodies, everyone, including the leadership of these bodies, stated that there had never been an interference in the activities of these bodies on the part of the president. Never. And I think that this is a vivid testimony and confirmation of the independence of their work."
Commenting on the delay in creation of the Anti-Corruption Court, the president reiterated the need to finalize this process as soon as possible.
"Unfortunately, today, the Parliament did not respond to my request and it's easier to go on television shows than to work on the draft law," he noted, emphasizing that in case of delay by the parliament he would submit his version of the draft law on the creation of the Anti-Corruption Court taking into account the recommendations of the Venice Commission in the near future.
On Nov. 29, the press office of the State Migration Service reported detention of the NABU member - the son of the former member of the Party of Regions Yurii Boiarskyi - while trying to bribe First Deputy Head of the State Migration Service of Ukraine Dina Pimakhova. NABU later said that the PGO and SBU unlawfully intervened in the undercover operation. The SBU conducted a search and seizure operation in the NABU on the same day.
