On Wednesday morning, the law enforcement officers instigated clashes with protesters while attempting to trace and detain leader of Rukh Novykh Syl party, the former Odesa region Governor, Georgia’s ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili in the camp outside the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

As reported by Censor.NET referring to Interfax-Ukraine, the live stream showing current situation near the Ukrainian parliament is available on Facebook page of Saakashvili’s ally Davit Sakvarelidze.

Several buses with law enforcers approached the camp near the Verkhovna Rada around 6 a.m. on Wednesday. Several dozen policemen lined up a column and entered the tent camp in attempt to locate Saakashvili.

The protesters started waking up and coming out of the tents. Clashes broke out between rally participants and policemen who used tear gas.

The police shortly retreated from the camp, boarded the buses, and departed. Several protesters reportedly received injuries in the clashes.

The rally participants continue constructing barricades outside the Verkhovna Rada and call Kyiv residents to support the protest.

Early Dec. 5, the law enforcers detained Saakashvili on charges of assisting crime ring members. His supporters blocked off the paddy wagon with the detained politician inside and later released him. During the search in Saakashvili's apartment, he went up to the roof of the house and was apprehended by the law enforcers there.

Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yurii Lutsenko later said that runaway oligarch Serhii Kurchenko funded Saakashvili's activities in Ukraine.
