As reported by Censor.NET, Prosecutor General Yurii Lutsenko said at a briefing on Tuesday.
"The court hearings during which we will move for the pre-trial detention of Danhadze (Saakashvili's associate Severion Danhadze - Ed.) without right to bail will obviously be held tomorrow. He is charged under articles 256 and 110 (high treason - the article stipulating no alternative measure of restraint except for pre-trial custody). Mr. Saakashvili will be indicted on charges under article 256, without article 110 allowing us, and we intend to do it in court tomorrow, to move for a house arrest with a 24/7 watch with the help of electronic monitoring bracelet," the prosecutor general said.
He stressed that he considered such intentions of the law enforcers to be legitimate and justified.
Early Dec. 5, the law enforcers detained Saakashvili on charges of assisting crime ring members. His supporters blocked off the paddy wagon with the detained politician inside and later released him. During the search in Saakashvili's apartment, he went up to the roof of the house and was apprehended by the law enforcers there.
