Nikolai Bushin served as a vice commander of the 4th platoon at the 4th company, 31st independent Airborne Storm-Trooper Brigade, dislocated at the military unit 73612 in Ulyanovsk, Russia. His family lived there with him.
It`s supposed that Bushin was killed on Aug. 26, 2014. Several of his friends at VKontakte.ru social network made posts confirming his death and initiating fundraising for his family. The posts read: "Our brother in arm died...defending our home country`s borders".
"Cargo -200 arrived to Voronezh. Paratrooper Nikolai Bushin was buried in Bolshaya Kazimka village of the region," Russian blogger Andrey Malygin wrote.
Journalists addressed the Military commissariat of the Ulyanovsk region, Bushin`s military unit, and the Ulyanovsk governor`s office for comments, but were denied. However, Elena Tatarinova, the press secretary of the 31st brigade, did not deny Nikolai Bushin's death, saying that she wasn`t authorized to comment.

Besides Nikolai Bushin, there was another Russian soldier, Ilnur Kilchenbaev, reported killed about the same time. Kilchenbaev served at the same military unit and was killed almost the same day, on Aug. 25. His death was officially confirmed by the Military commissariat, stating that he "was killed while on duty."
It was reported that on August 25 there were heavy attacks by pro-Russian separatists in the direction of Mariupol, a port city in the south-east of Ukraine.
