"There is mounting evidence that Russia yet again continues to blatantly violate the sovereignty of its neighbour. In May, Prime Minister Harper described his fears of a slow-motion invasion in Ukraine. It appears Russia is starting to turn up the speed.

Canada finds this absolutely unacceptable, and the Putin regime bears full responsibility for these irresponsible and reckless actions.

This further proves that the Putin regime is being fundamentally dishonest about its intentions, and calls into question any credibility it purports to have in negotiating a peaceful resolution with Ukraine.

Russia must immediately cease its aggressive acts against Ukraine, respect its sovereignty and territorial integrity, withdraw its forces, and end the flow of arms, including anti-aircraft systems across the border.
