Concerning possible new restrictions imposed by the EU,which may be considered at the extraordinary summit of the Heads ofState and Government on August 30, the MEP said that, for example,"the increase of sanctions on the financial sector in Russia ispossible. In particular, the stop of funding of some Russianfinancial products from Western hedge funds that stillexists."
Earlierofficial Kyiv urged the EU to urgently consider the situation inUkraine at a meeting of the Council on August 30.
