US State Department: Putin's Second Aid Convoy Is Another Provocative Measure that Would Only Escalate a Situation

The US are concerned about Russian plans for a second aid convoy. Any new mission done without the explicit permission of Ukraine would be yet another provocative measure that would only escalate a situation.

Spokesperson of the US State Department Jen Psaki said it at at a daily briefing, Censor.NET reports, citing the US Department of State.

"We don't know what Russia brought into Ukraine, who it went to, and what Russia took out of Ukraine. We do know that Russia sent in a convoy of well over 200 trucks without the permission of the Ukrainian Government. We also know that Russia continues to fuel the conflict with weapons, training personnel, and material. It's also not clear that all the trucks and drivers departed," said Ms. Psaki.

She said that the US support sending of humanitarian assistance, but "the context here and the owners of this assistance is incredibly important, given that this is a country that has continued to assist the separatists with the flow of weapons, with financing, with personnel, with material, and I think that context is one of the big reasons that gives us strong concern here, and certainly gives the Ukrainians concern."
