 Merkel likes Ukraine’s reaction to Putin’s "Humanitarian Convoy" Provocation: "RF heads for the ultimate escalation"

German Chancellor Angela Merkel said she was "deeply concerned" about the Russian convoy invasion and highly appreciated the restrained reaction of Ukraine.

This was reported on the website of the German government, Ukrainian Pravda writes.

The ministry reported that Merkel held telephone talks with the president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"The Chancellor has expressed deep concern about the fact that the convoy crossed the border unaccompanied by ICRC without the consent of Ukraine and preliminary inspection at the border. Russia took the course on the final escalation of the already tense enough situation," the statement says.

"She appreciated the balanced Ukrainian reaction," added at Merkel's.

She also spoke in favor of the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to civilians. "But it also should be applied to all Ukrainian assistance that was previously blocked by the separatists," said at Merkel's.
