His statement says about it, Ukrainian Pravdareports.
"I condemnthe entry of the Russian so-called Humanitarian convoy withoutUkrainian authorities consent and without any participation of theInternational Red Cross Committee"
"Thisis a blatant breach of Russia's international commitments includingthose taken in Berlin and Geneva and also the further violation ofUkraine's sovereignty by Russia. This could only deepen a crisis inthe region that Russia itself has created and continue tostrengthen," The Secretary General claimed
"Thedisregard of international humanitarian principles raises furtherquestions about whether the true purpose of the aid convoy is tosupport civilians or to resupply armed separatists," Rasmussen saidin a statement issued from NATO headquarters.
Theconvoy's move onto Ukrainian soil coincides with "a majorescalation in Russian military involvement in Eastern Ukraine sincemid-August, including the use of Russian forces," the allianceleader said. "In addition, Russian artillery support - bothcross-border and from within Ukraine - is being employed againstthe Ukrainian armed forces. We have also seen transfers of largequantities of advanced weapons, including tanks, armored personnelcarriers and artillery to separatist groups in EasternUkraine."
He addedthat NATO also "is observing an alarming build-up of Russian groundand air forces in the vicinity of Ukraine."
Instead ofde-escalating the situation, Russia continues to escalate it,despite the efforts of the international community to find apolitical solution to the crisis. This can only lead to Russia'sfurther isolation. I strongly urge Russia not to take furtherprovocative actions, to stop destabilising Ukraine and to takegenuine steps to resolve this dangerous situation with full respectof Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity andinternational law.
The aidtrucks were reported to move towards the Ukrainian border crossingpoint Izaryne without the IRCC escort and Ukrainian Governmentconsent.
