 Merkel Urged NATO to Increase the Combat Readiness Due to Russia's Aggression Against Ukraine

According to Merkel, it is vital to create conditions for NATO to respond quickly to today's threats.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel stands for increasing the combat readiness of NATO forces in the context of the events in Ukraine, Censor.NET reports citing UNIAN.

Thus, according to Merkel, it is necessary to create background that NATO could respond quickly to today's threats. Chancellor offered to organize joint military exercises and develop military infrastructure.

As noted, the Chancellor's opinion also shares Commander of NATO Allied Forces in Europe Philip Breedlove, who warns of the danger of repeating the scenario of destabilization of other countries in Eastern Europe by the Russian Federation according to the scenario of Ukraine. Earlier it was reported that large-scale exercises of NATO were held in the Czech Republic.
