Yesterday Ukrainian border guards prevented an attempt to deliver part of the Russian "humanitarian aid" to the territory of Ukraine. At 12:50 pm 16 white tent KAMAZ trucks, 1 tanker, and 1 bus allegedly from a humanitarian convoy arrived to the Donetsk border checkpoint (Russia) for the parking lot near the checkpoint.

Information Analytical Center of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine reports that after that, a group of militants arrived on 8 cars and 3 buses to the Ukrainian representatives, Censor.NET reports.

The Ukrainian border guards took up defensive positions to repel the attack. After talks with Russian border guards, the terrorists moved into the territory of Ukraine.

The OSCE Representative Paul Ricard said that the organization may reviewed the Russian humanitarian convoy on August 18-19. After inspecting the goods, the aid will be passed to the further delivery to the official representatives of the Red Cross.

It is also reported that as of 11 am, August 18, due to a lack of coordination of the safety guarantee issues between the terrorist organizations and representatives of the Red Cross, the border and customs clearance of the humanitarian convoy was not carried out. The detailed inspection of the contents of the Russian humanitarian convoy has not yet begun.
