 Cabinet Sends Humanitarian Aid to the Luhansk Region: Ukraine Is Able to Provide its Citizens with Food by Itself

Tomorrow the government will send food shipment to the Luhansk region.

This was announced today at a briefing of Agrarian Policy Minister Ihor Shvaika, Censor.NET reports with reference to UNIAN.

"Tomorrow morning, time to be confirmed, food shipments will be sent from Kyiv, Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk to Luhansk region," he said, noting that the approximate destination is the town of Shchastia.

According to the Minister, the agency is holding a meeting to decide on the final list of products that will be sent to the Luhansk region. In particular, it will be cereal, canned meat and other products of long-term storage.

According to him, Ukraine is able to provide its citizens with food itself.

"At this time food is being supplied to Luhansk ... They have food to eat there," he said.

The Minister stressed that until Wednesday night the forming of the humanitarian aid shipment should be completed. He also stated that he considers the actions of the Russian government to send humanitarian aid cynical in regard to the Ukrainian people.
