 Putin Prohibited Import of Goods from Countries that Have Imposed Sanctions Against Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree "On the application of separate special economic measures to ensure the security of the Russian Federation."

The press service of the Kremlin informs about this, Censor.NET reports.

The document prescribes the bodies of state power of the Russian Federation "in their activities to follow the fact that foreign economic operations providing import into the territory of the Russian Federation of certain agricultural products, raw materials and food, which country of origin is State that has decided to impose economic sanctions against Russian legal entities and (or) individuals or joined such a decision, shall be prohibited or limited within one year from the date of this Decree come into force."

The President instructed the Government of the Russian Federation to determine the list of agricultural products, raw materials and food covered by the decree, and to establish a list of specific actions required to implement this document. The decree came into force on the date of its signing. As noted in the document, these measures have been taken "to protect the national interests of the Russian Federation."
