"The OSCE observers have received calls from the officers of the 72nd Mechanized Infantry Brigade during August 1 and 2, saying that about 600 Ukrainian soldiers are surrounded by the separatists and left without ammunition, fuel and food," Ukrainian Pravda informs citing the report.

The Ukrainian military failed to convince the separatists to provide the corridor for exit and they appealed to the representatives of the OSCE. The servicemen asked to give them the opportunity to move to the Russian border crossing point Gukovo and "convince their leaders in the Defense Ministry of Ukraine to agree to this option." "12 servicemen of the 72nd brigade crossed the border at the checkpoint Gukovo at 10 pm on August 2," the statement says.
