 Russia Continues to Build Up Troops at the Ukrainian Border

In the border areas of Russia and Ukraine more units of the Russian army are detected.

This was reported at a briefing by speaker of the Information Centre of the NSDC Andrii Lysenko, Censor.NET reports, citing Liga.

"The division of the 138th motorized rifle brigade of the Leningrad region are deployed to the Rostov region, units of the 25th separate motorized rifle brigade of the Pskov region are deployed to the Belgorod region, the unit of the 531th anti-aircraft missile regiment of the Murmansk region are deployed in the Kursk region," he said.

According to him, yesterday the Russian Defense Ministry started the large-scale military exercise involving more than 100 combat aircraft, including the Su-27, MiG-31, multi-functional complexes Su-34, frontline bombers Su-24, Mi-8, Mi -24 and Mi 28N, as well as technical means of air defense. According to the Defense Ministry, exercises will last until August 8.

"Ukraine considers conducting such unprecedented military exercises on the border with Ukraine as a provocation," Lysenko said.

Up to 45 000 troops of the Russian Armed Forces and Interior Ministry are concentrated along the state border of Ukraine together with 160 tanks, up to 1360 armored combat vehicles, up to 350 artillery systems and 130 MLRSs, 192 combat aircrafts, and 137 attack helicopters.
