Russia Does Not Allow Import of Ukrainian Food Products into Crimea

Representatives of the Russian Federation on Friday completely blocked the entry of the Ukrainian transport with food products from mainland Ukraine into the annexed Crimea forming 6-kilometer-long traffic queues at control points.

This is stated by the press service of the Ministry of Revenue in the Kherson region, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.

"Today, representatives of the Russian Federation completely blocked entry of the Ukrainian transport with food products into Crimea. Formal reason is the that imported Ukrainian food products do not comply with the sanitary standards of the Russian Federation," the press-service notes.

Transport queues from mainland Ukraine have already reached more than 6 kilometers

Kherson customs officers are convinced that the ban on import of Ukrainian food products into Crimea is a part of an overall plan of the Russian Federation for the destabilization of the situation and the escalation of tensions in the region. In addition, the coercion of Ukrainian carriers to obtain Russian customs clearances is a part of the activities to legitimize the occupation.
