Polish journalist Bianca Zalevska is in serious condition after being wounded in the Donbas.

Head of Military Medical Department of the Ministry of Defense, medical service Colonel Vitalii Andronatii announced this, Censor.NET reports, citing UNIAN.

According to him, the journalist has spinal injuries but the spinal cord is not damaged. "She also has undergone operative treatment of the abdominal cavity organs. Her condition is stable today. The journalist was taken to Kharkiv Military Clinical Center by helicopter with other wounded soldiers. Military doctors stabilized her condition through surgical procedure and now there is no threat to her life," Andronatіi said.

He informed that Zalevska will be moved to the Romodanov Institute of Neurosurgery in Kyiv by reanimobile in the coming days.

Andronatii believes that there is no need to transport the journalist to Poland: "The Ukrainian doctors' qualification is not worse than in other countries," Andronatіi said.

The ATO press center reported on July 27 that the terrorists fired at the car of Espresso TV journalists and severely injured Polish journalist returning from the ATO area together with the Ukrainian military.

According to the Espresso TV the journalist received bad injuries. The gunshot wound and a broken back were among them.

Polish television channel Republika, which the journalist collaborated with, reported that she has been working in Ukraine since the beginning of mass protests in November 2013. She was also involved in humanitarian aid issues and worked as an interpreter recently.
