A draft law on the prevention of Russian aggression is being considered by the U.S. government; its adoption will allow Ukraine to obtain the status of a U.S. ally without NATO membership. This was stated by the Adjutant General of the Californian National Guard Maj. Gen. David Baldwin during a meeting with Deputy Defense Minister Ihor Kabanenko in Kyiv, Censor.NET reports citing ZN.ua.
Baldwin noted that the American side highly appreciates the cooperation with the Armed Forces of Ukraine and is ready to provide them with comprehensive support.
Informing the American side about the situation in the east of the country, Kabanenko noted that Ukraine is facing the threat of a large-scale aggression by its eastern neighbor. "The scale of the threats and the scope of the necessary response to the crisis suggests that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are in dire need of international support today," Kabanenko said.
