 Prosecutor General's Office Announced the Suspects among Law Enforcement Responsible for Crimes during Euromaidan

The Prosecutor General’s Office announced suspects among officials involved in committing crimes during peaceful protests.

July 24, 2014 the prosecutors informed officials and judges of being suspects in committing illegal detention of persons who participated in mass protests in Kyiv during January-February 2014 in support of the Maidan, unlawful criminal prosecution, conducting illegal arrests of peaceful protesters by the courts, Censor.NET reports with reference to the Office's press service.

We are talking about the investigative agencies of the Interior Ministry Main Department, city and district prosecutor's offices in Kyiv, as well as a judge of the capital's district court. We are now deciding on their arrest. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

Prosecutor General of Ukraine Vitalii Yarema has repeatedly stressed that the investigation of crimes committed during the peaceful protest in the Maidan is a priority for the prosecution.

The information on the commission of the criminal offenses was recorded by the Prosecutor General's Office in the Unified Register of pretrial investigations under Articles 371, 372, 375, 366 of the Criminal Code in February, 2014.
