Russia Announces Expansion of Banned Ukrainian Products List

Rospotrebnadzor is prepared to expand the list of banned Ukrainian products.

This was stated by Head of the Agency Anna Popova, Censor.NET reports citing RIA Novosti.

According to her, many Ukrainian food products supplied to Russia do not correspond to Russian requirements. "Trials are conducted in all regions of the Russian Federation in various laboratories but the results are identical. A wide list of current products does not meet the requirements. We are taking [the products] off the shelves, we fine, and we, through courts, do not allow the sale of some shipments. In various regions of the Russian Federation the list of these products is also expanding," she said.

According to her, the ban can include variety of products, including children's juice, beer, canned vegetables and dairy products. Popova noted that a lot of the violations are in the field of consumer protection. "For example, canned fish: the latest situation is when the mass fraction of dry matter is not satisfactory, when the whole fish, for example, has no features of a carcass, when a significant amount of specific weight is filling or sauce in a can and it exceeds the amount of the fish itself," - she added .
