 Council of Europe Officials Convinced MH17 Boing Crash Was a Terrorist Act

The Council of Europe officials called the crash of Malaysian Airlines Boing-777 a terrorist act.

The Council of Europe officials Anne Brasseur and Thorbjørn Jagland expressed their condolence and called upon a thorough and impartial investigation into what caused the crash, which killed all 283 passengers and 15 crew on board MH17, en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, Censor.NET informs referring to Ukrinform.

Following the jet crash report in eastern Ukraine, the Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjørn Jagland says he is shocked over the tragic loss of life:

"I was shocked to learn about the tragic loss of Malaysian Airlines flight MH 17 over eastern Ukraine. I condemn this horrific act of terror which is the ultimate reminder that the conflict in eastern Ukraine must come to an end. All of us at the Council of Europe express our deepest sympathy and condolences to the families and friends of the victims of this disaster. I agree with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon that all parties must enable an international investigation to take place without delay, and I call on all sides to cooperate to allow for this to happen".

The President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), Anne Brasseur, has also expressed consternation and great sadness following the crash of a Malaysia Airlines aircraft in eastern Ukraine.

"My thoughts are with those who have lost loved ones. On behalf of the members of the Assembly, I offer my condolences and deepest sympathy to the victims' families and relatives.

Priority must now be given to conducting a rigorous and transparent international investigation to establish as quickly as possible the full circumstances of this tragedy and to find out who was responsible."
