Russia Claims that Ukraine Will not be Able to Free Kidnapped Pilot Nadia Savchenko

Official representative of the Russian Investigative Committee Vladimir Markin said that Ukraine will not be able to release its pilot Nadia Savchenko.

He stated this in an interview with Govorit Moskva (Moscow Speaking) radio station, Censor.NET reports, citing Lenta.ru.

"The odds [of her being released] are the same as him [Poroshenko] becoming the president of America,", Markin said, replying to a question.

In addition, he said that Kyiv did not contact Moscow regarding the release of Savchenko.

Earlier, President Poroshenko called Savchenko "a symbol of the struggle for Ukraine."

He gave instructions to find her a new lawyer who will ensure her defense.
