According to the report, the Russian security servicescreated a top secret station. They were planning to seize power andestablish a puppet Odessa People's Republic. The Security Servicehas established that the headquarters of the station included up to50 people. Everyone had a role in the planned rebellion. The planwas a violent seizure of power, combat groups operation upon asignal from Russia.
"On July 9, Odessa Security Service detained the organizerof this sabotage and subversive network - Russian citizen AlexanderYakimenko and co-organizer, Ukrainian citizen citizen YuriiTrofimov. The criminals planned to involve seven militant groupsfor sabotage of vital services infrastructure of the Odesa region.They were preparing terrorist acts against government officials andforeign nationals. The provocateurs had to incite artificialconflicts between the regions' residents," the SBUnoted.
During a search ofthe detainees the officers seized Russian intelligence guidelines,detailed topographic maps with marked locations of military andstrategic facilities in the region and data on the defense systems.SBU seized lists of local militants with their call signs anddetailed sabotage tasks.
They also founddocuments with saboteurs' cost sheet which indicated the network'sfunding from Russia and receipts for cash received. During a searchof the homes of detainees an arsenal of weapons was discovered -combat and traumatic guns, ammunition.
The questioningcontinues. The SBU is determining and detaining the accomplices ofthe saboteurs.
