 Militants Broke into a Penal Colony in Torez and Freed 8 Prisoners. All the Released Prisoners Have Battle Participation Credit.

Armed men freed eight prisoners from the penal colony number 28 in Torez on Wednesday, July 9.

This information was confirmed to OstroV in the press service of the prosecutor's general office of the Donetsk region, Censor.NET reports.

A group of armed men appeared on the territory of the penal colony number 28 in Torez today at about 05:00 pm. They took the colony accounting staff employees hostage and demanded to release eight prisoners.

"The hostages are released at the moment. Eight prisoners, whose release demanded the armed men, joined the group of terrorist and fled with them," the press service said.

The criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (terrorism) were opened. The regional prosecutor's office monitors the progress of the investigation.

According to the media, all 8 prisoners freed by the terrorists have experience of participation in military operations on the territory of other states.
