He said this at a briefing on Tuesday in Sloviansk where he arrived on a working visit, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine. "I have been told that the power supply in Sloviansk was restored on a temporary basis today at 05.00 pm. It was the deadline set by me. The city that lived without electricity for several weeks will be able to turn on the light today," he said.
The President noted that Ukrainian maintenance crews will do everything to return the city to normal life. "Ukrainian electricians and service technicians are working 24 hours a day risking their lives to return peace to Sloviansk. I'm sure they will fulfill their task perfectly," the Head of state said. According to him, local authorities were tasked to restore housing stock for the residents to be able to return to their homes.
"We have established the deadline for the schools restoration. The children should be able go to school on September 1, because the children going to school are also a symbol of peace," Poroshenko said.
