He stated this during a telephone conversation with U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden, Censor.NET reports citing the press service of the Head of State.
According to the press service, the parties discussed further possible international efforts to support Ukraine's position.
Poroshenko informed the US Vice President on the results of the meeting of Foreign Ministers of Ukraine, Germany, France and Russia in Berlin and outlined his vision for the next steps in line with the agreements reached.
The President stressed that he was ready to return to the ceasefire as soon as it is confirmed bilaterally, as well as after the release of all hostages and establishing control of the border with the OSCE monitoring.
The President noted that he is ready to begin political negotiations without any other additional conditions.
In turn, Biden assured him that the U.S. share and support the approach the President of Ukraine to resolve the situation in these difficult times for the country and are ready to make efforts to achieve peace in the state.
The President thanked the people of the United States and congratulated the Vice-President with the upcoming Independence Day which America celebrates the 4th of July. "Ukraine is fighting for its independence today and we know its price," Poroshenko said.
