"There are hostages, 29 members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are hostages. As instructed by the President of Ukraine who is the Commander-in-Chief, we have established a commission headed by a deputy head of the Security Service, and this commission is conducting exchange in the set manner," Defense Minister Mykhailo Koval said, Censor.NET reports citing LigaBusinessInform.
Commenting on the large number of hostages, Koval said that 11 people were taken hostage at once: "They were travelling in a civilian train from the place of a detached service. At Debaltsevo station policemen checked their paperwork and just after that Cossacks entered the train and 11 soldiers were "arrested." Currently most of them are already with their families and friends. The process [of exchange] is underway."
