This was stated by adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Anton Herashchenko, commenting storming of the police headquarters in Donetsk, Censor.NET reports citing Liga.
According Herashchenko, one group headed by "Bes" ("Devil," nickname of one of the leaders of Donetsk terrorists) wanted to destroy completely the work of the Donetsk police. In contrast, another group, realizing that it would lead to negative attitude against the militants among the local population, opposed the action of "Bes".
"There's a certain balance when part of the terrorists understand that the police can not be destroyed, while the other, more directly controlled from Moscow, obey the instructions of the Russian General Staff and the Federal Security Service," Herashchenko said.
He also stressed that the Ukrainian police in Donetsk had only a necessary minimum of weapons to fight with robbers and bandits. "Weapons was removed in April from Donetsk," the Interior Ministry adviser said.
As it was mentioned earlier, as a result of storming the police headquarters in Donetsk, one policeman was killed and two were seriously injured.
