"The war will end when the last mercenary leaves our land. We will be working to achieve this as soon as possible," he said. "We must destroy the militants who brought the problems to the Donbas land. And we will do it. We can cease fire only when the opposing side, our opponents accept the conditions of the peace plan proposed by the President," Koval added.
The Acting Minister did not rule out that the ATO in the Donbas may end with negotiations and a truce. "There is a very good saying: a bad peace is better than a good war. This proverb is relevant in our case as well. We, the military, carry out the tasks. But if our enemies accept conditions determined by our President, I am confident there will be peace in the near future," Koval said.
Yesterday, June 30, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko cancelled the decision of the unilateral ceasefire in the east of Ukraine and the active phase of the ATO resumed.
