 Putin Holds Security Council Meeting to Discuss Situation in Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin has called a meeting of the Russian Security Council to discuss the situation in Ukraine.

The discussion focused on various aspects related to preparations for the fourth summit of the heads of Caspian states scheduled to take place this autumn and the situation in Ukraine, which quickly deteriorates following President Poroshenko's order to end the ceasefire, Censor.NET reports citing Kremlin's official website.

Taking part in the meeting were Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko, State Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Ivanov, Secretary of the Security Council Nikolai Patrushev, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, Director of the Federal Security Service Alexander Bortnikov, Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service Mikhail Fradkov, Deputy Secretary of the Security Council Rashid Nurgaliyev, and permanent member of the Security Council Boris Gryzlov.
