Putin Holds Security Council Meeting to Discuss Situation in Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin has called a meeting of the Russian Security Council to discuss the situation in Ukraine.

The discussion focused on various aspectsrelated to preparations for the fourth summit of the heads ofCaspian states scheduled to take place this autumnand thesituation in Ukraine, which quickly deteriorates followingPresident Poroshenko's order to end the ceasefire, Censor.NET reports citing Kremlin'sofficialwebsite.

Takingpart in the meeting were Federation Council Speaker ValentinaMatviyenko, State Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin, Chief of Staff ofthe Presidential Executive Office Sergei Ivanov, Secretary of theSecurity Council Nikolai Patrushev, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov,Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Defence Minister SergeiShoigu, Director of the Federal Security Service AlexanderBortnikov, Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service MikhailFradkov, Deputy Secretary of the Security Council RashidNurgaliyev, and permanent member of the Security Council BorisGryzlov.
