This was stated by one of the militant leaders Andrii Purhin, Ukrainska Pravda reports.
According to him, the militants "have taken over" the entire gas transportation system in the region. "It simply means that the storage facilities are important to us to provide the DPR and the LPR with gas in winter. Because we are not supplied with Russian gas, and the gas in local storages can be withdrawn and given to the West by Kyiv and we will freeze in autumn or winter," said the leader of the militants.
He claims that his supporters seized two underground gas storage facilities.
Meanwhile the Ministry of Energy assured that this is not true.
The conversation with the leader of the militants and the head of Donbastransgas really took place, but now there are no armed people at the gas transportation facilities, everything is in normal operation mode.
Donbastransgas is engaged in storage and transportation of gas. It is in charge of over 5.5 thousand kilometers of gas pipelines, two underground gas storage facilities and nearly 200 gas distribution stations.
