"In accordance with Part 1 of Article 10 of the Agreement between the Governments of Ukraine and Russia on the checkpoints across the state border, on June 23 the Cabinet of Ministers decided to shut down vehicle movement across the border at the Izvaryno crossing point in the Lugansk region," the statement says.
"On the night of June 21, a group of militants attacked the Izvaryno crossing point. Using small arms and mortar fire, they caused substantial damage to its infrastructure and destroyed its equipment. As a result of the armed conflict, the personnel of the border patrol and other control services was forced to leave the territory of the checkpoint. The actions of the militant groups prevent crossing and ensuring safety of citizens who cross the state border at Izvaryno checkpoint," the State Border Guard Service explains.
