 Poroshenko Spoke to Putin: a Peace Plan to Settle the Crisis in Eastern Ukraine Discussed

The telephone conversation of the President of Ukraine with the President of Russia took place on June 19.

"The President defined the key positions and the schedule for implementing the peace plan over the situation in the east of the state. Poroshenko noted that there is a need to release hostages and establish of an efficient control regime on the Ukrainian-Russian border," the statement said.

The Ukrainian head of the state stressed that he counts on the support of the peace plan along with the ceasefire.

"The Russian President expressed his support of the efforts of de-escalation of the situation in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, the process of implementation of the ceasefire and the peace plan of the President of Ukraine," the President's administration added.
