border war

The Ukrainian Armed Forces create the buffer area at a distance of 15 km from the border. The border guards will rebuild their units and checkpoints further.

Acting Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Koval announced this during the festivities at the National University of Defense of Ukraine named after Ivan Cherniakhovskii, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.

"The Army acts at a distance of about 15 km away from the border, thus creating a buffer zone. The border guards together with the Army restore all its divisions and checkpoints," he said.

Head of the Defense Ministry said the soldiers will, by all means, fulfill the President's order to regain control of the state border.

"President of Ukraine, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko have clearly defined the objectives, and we shall carry them steadily. The state border will be protected from any attempt to penetrate the territory of our country from outside. We are taking continuous and violent battles restoring our positions thus closing the state border from external interference," Colonel-General Mykhailo Koval said.
