General Prosecutor's Office arrested theaccounts of Serhii Arbuzov, where the state bonds on the amount ofnearly $ 2 billion and 1.2 billion hryvnia were kept, the DeputyProsecutor General of Ukraine Oleksii Bahanets said, Censor.NET informs citing ZN.UA.
"Not all the former people in power hid theirmoney abroad. We started the criminal proceedings against theformer head of the National Bank and the Deputy Prime Minister ofUkraine, and blocked the accounts in Ukrainian banks in which hissecurities kept. Just imagine: He bought state bonds at 9% discountfor the money he stole and transferred to the offshore companiesaccounts and then turned back to Ukraine as an investment. Thereare state bonds on the amount of 1 billion 800 million only indollar terms and also bonds worth 1 billion 200 million UAHarrested," Bahanets said at a press briefing on Wednesday, June18.
