MANPADS from Russian Military Base Are Used by Terrorists in Donbas: Foreign Ministry Demands Explanation from Russia. PHOTOS

Ukraine require that Russia provide an explanation of how MANPADS "Igla" ("Needle") from a Russian military base fall into hands of the militants in the Donbas.

This is stated in the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Censor.NET reports.

"Ukrainian authorities received a photo proof of Russian origin MANPADS (man-portable air defense systems) used by the terrorists in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. So June 6, 2014 after the terrorist attack on the checkpoint "Marynivka" (the Donetsk region), an empty box from the "9M39" (MANPADS "Igla"). A packing list that was in the box indicates that these MANPADS were stored since 2001 in the military base of the Russian Antiaerial forces number 33859 (Yeysk, the Krasnodar region). Last check mark from a storage location on the base is dated April 12, 2014," the statement of the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry says, Censor.NET reports.

The following pictures clearly demonstrate it:

"Transfer of MANPADS to the terrorists by the Russian Federation not only confirms the fact of direct Russian interference in the internal affairs of Ukraine and Russia's support of terrorism as a phenomenon, but also a brutal violation of international obligations to control storage and transfer of MANPADS under the Wassenaar Arrangement on Export Controls for Conventional Arms and Dual-Use Goods and Technologies", the Foreign Ministry summarizes.
