First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Vitaii Yarema said that President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko banned cooperation with the Russian Federation in the military-industrial sector at a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council on June 16, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine. "The President of Ukraine have completely forbidden the cooperation with Russia in the military sphere at the NSDC session today."
"Since that day we have actually stopped all cooperation with the Russian Federation in the sphere of military-industrial complex," he said in the TV program "The Freedom of Speech" on ICTV on Monday evening. Yarema reminded that previously acting president Oleksandr Turchynov have signed the decree regarding termination of cooperation with Russia in the military sphere, which concerned production and supply of arms and weapons to the Russian Federation. It only allowed co-working in the production of dual-purpose products, such as engines for helicopters that can be used for both military and civilian purposes. Earlier Censor.NET reported that 79 Ukrainian and 859 Russian enterprises of defense sector would suffer from the cooperation discontinuity.
