 Four Thousand Terrorists and Nine Active Terrorist Groups Counted In Luhansk

The terrorist groups whose activity was noted in the Luhansk region consist of locals ran by either pro-Russian citizens or representatives of the underworld and mercenary units depleted from Russia.

As for the local terrorist groups, they are usually groups of 20 to 200 militants. The active core of such local groups in the Luhansk region counts up to 2000 people. The terrorist organization called the Luhansk People's Republic somehow coordinates these terrorist groups.

According to the Information Resistance group, the total number of terrorists operating in the Luhansk region is more than 4000 people. "The leaders of these groups can expand their numbers by attracting local citizens if there is funding available (The terrorists currently experience funding shortage)," the statement says.

The groups' members are armed with small arms. These groups are mostly based in the captured administrative buildings in the central districts of settlements.

These illegal groups are also armed with AK (Kalashnikov assault rifle), RPK (Kalashnikov light machine gun), grenades of RGD-5 and F-1 types and body armor. Some members of the groups armed with SVD (Dragunov sniper rifle), PK and PKM (Kalashnikov machine guns types), RPG grenade launchers and man-portable air defense systems (MANPAD).

Here are some of the most active local armed terrorist groups of the Luhansk region:

1. The Yuhoslav group.

Headed by Serhii S., born 14/07/1973, resident of the Krasnodon district of the Luhansk region. He served his military obligations in Yugoslavia in the early 90s. He is a founder of a local non-commercial organization.

The group numbers more than 100 militants.

The group locates in the building of the Ukrainian Security Service Department and in the building of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of the Luhansk region in Luhansk.

2. The Moshovoi group

Headed by Alexii M., born 03/04/1975, resident of the Svatovo district of the Luhansk region.

The group numbers up to 200 militants.

The group's primary location was in "Yaseni" recreation facility in the Sverdlovsk district of the Luhansk region. The band is split at the moment and its parts are relocated to the cities of Lisychansk, Severodonetsk and Sverdlovsk.

3. The Gaidei group (subordinated to the head of Moshovoi group).

Headed by Olexander G., born 03/05/1966, resident of the city of Sverdlovsk of the Luhansk region, citizen of Russia.

The group numbers about 50 militants.

The group locates on Hlinka str., building 1A, the city of Sverdlovsk (the building belongs to Remo LLC).

4. The Pasha Locator group

Headed by Pavlo D., born 22/11/1976, resident of the city of Stakhanov of the Luhansk region.

The group numbers about 50 militants.

The group locates in the city of Stakhanov, in the former building of the regional department of the Organized Crime Control of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate and also in Severodonetsk, near Severodonetsk Stekloplastik Enterprise.

5. The Leshyi group

Headed by Alexii P., born 31/01/1975 in Zaporizhzhia, resident of the city of Stakhanov of the Luhansk region. He is former staff officer of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. He founded a public organization of the so-called Cossacks.

The group numbers more than 50 militants.

The group locates in Luhansk in the building of the Ukrainian Security Service department of the Luhansk region.

6. The Devyataya Rota group.

Headed by Hennadii P., born 16/11/1976, resident of Luhansk. He is a member of the local Cossacks.

The group numbers more than 30 militants.

The group locates in the town of Shchastia in the Luhansk region. The group controls one of the biggest checkpoints near Luhansk.

7. The Bema group

Headed by Anton B., born 26/05/1972, resident of the city of Stakhanov of Luhansk region.

The group numbers more than 100 militants.

The group locates in the Luhansk Regional State Administration building in Luhansk.

8 The Goncharov group

Headed by Vasily G., born in 1971, resident of the town of Krasnyi Luch of the Luhansk region.

The group numbers more than 50 militants.

The group locates on the territory of the Luhansk regional Army recruiting office depot. (A sort of training center for the terrorists is also organized here).

9. The Paka group

Headed by Sergey P., born 01/03/1963, resident of the city of Severodonetsk of the Luhansk region.

The group numbers more than 20 militants.
